How to hide files and folders on Android smartphones

In our day to day usage there are times we give our smartphone to our friends and there are files or photos that we do not want them to see. If you are wondering how to hide files and folders on your Android devices, these steps are for you:

Method I: Create a dedicated hidden folder

To create a hidden folder, follow below steps:

i:   Open File Manager app on your Smartphone/Tablet.

ii:  Look for option to create new folder. 

iii: Type desired Name for that new Folder. 

iV: Add a dot(.) before the folder name to make it a hidden folder. 

V: Now transfer all your files to this folder and your files are now hidden. 

If you want to hide an Existing folder, here are the steps:

• Open file Manager App on your device. 
• Navigate to folder that you wish to hide.
• Open the folder and tap on "Create New file". 
• Type .nomedia as file name and exit the file manager and restart your smartphone.                                                                            Your folder is now hidden.
