How to transfer data from Android device to PC(computer) without using USB cables

When we wish to transfer data/files from Android phones to a personal computer, the first thing that comes to mind is either using USB cable or Bluetooth/Wi-Fi. This method of transferring files/data requires setup. 




Have you ever thought viewing data wirelessly and transferring mobile content to PC just like a windows drive? 

Yes, that is possible. 

Transferring files this way requires one time setup and Wi-Fi connectivity, a third party app from Google Play Store.


Follow these steps to transfer files/content from Android devices to PC without using USB


Download File Manager app that allows FTP file transfer from Google Play Store( File transfer such as ES file explorer, MX file explorer. 

Open the downloaded app and look for the option FTP and View on PC.

Make sure your phone and computer are connected to same Wi-fi network.

Activate the FTP transfer within the app.

Go to "This PC" on your Computer.

Tap on "Add a network location" from the top of the window.

Click Next button and enter the network URL from the file manager app. 

Click Next and enter User Name and Password or select the option "Logon Anonymously".

Enter Network drive name and Click Next.

Now, click the Finish button to complete the process. 

Now, go back to This PC and look for the drive.

Double click on it to open the drive.
