Google has launched "Family link", a parental control software for smartphones that allows parents to track their children's smartphone activities. They say parents can also view weekly and monthly reports showing how their kids use smartphone. Another interesting feature is that the app allows to set usage limitations by setting up the maximum hours within the app.
The app also gives children an option to opt out of supervision of parents. When a child tries to opt out of supervision, the app first notify parents and if denied the kids may end up being locked out of the phone until they accept the supervision.
