The World’s oldest electric suspension railway has
reopened in Germany. After a long closer, this oldest electric train is now
ready to run in western German city i.e in Wuppertal.
Commuters are very happy to see the train after long
time. Train buffs and commuters greeted the world’s oldest electric suspension
train with cheers and applause when the train left the depot in Oberbarmen.
They say that the train is not only the most important
means of transport but also the city’s trademark.
It is said that the train follows the path of the
Wupper River, 12 metres below the carriages and at the end of the line the
track loops elegantly to allow for the trains to be turned around.
Interesting facts about this train:
- It is the oldest electric suspension Train in the World.
- The recent closure of this train was the railway’s longest since second world war.
